Nat’s Neighborhood Review: The Ridings, Williamstown, Monroe Township, NJ

Date: 11/7/2022 by Nathaniel Geary

Welcome to the Ridings, one of Williamstown's most exclusive neighborhoods. This is an amazing, often overlooked neighborhood in the heart of South Jersey and I felt the need to do a deep dive into some of the history and current happenings of this spot. At this time I am writing this prior to hosting an open house at the property located at 2019 Paddock Ln, Williamstown, NJ 08094 from 1PM to 3pm Saturday 12/10/2022; By the time you read this, the property may have sold but don’t Fret! I am here to find the best home for you.

The Ridings is a premier neighborhood located off of Stanger Ave/Fries Mill Road in Williamstown Nestled in Monroe Township, Gloucester County New Jersey. This neighborhood is located south of Route 322 and west of the Hunter Woods Community.

Tom’s Thoughts:

This is a premier neighborhood with a beautiful backdrop of some of the best nature south jersey has to offer. On one hand you have beautiful preserved farmlands and on the other, you are down the road from some beautiful hiking trails that the Glassboro Wildlife Management Area has to offer!

Neighborhood composition:

This neighborhood consists of approximately 112 single family homes ranging from 1862 square feet to 6608 square feet in above grade finish area. The average home size is 3576 square feet. These homes are connected via concrete sidewalks with 2 asphalt running paths. These Asphalt pathways travel north from the intersection of Steeplechase Dr. and Stallion Court to provide connection to the 6.3 mile Glassboro/Williamstown Bike Trail and a separate pathway which is parallel to Stanger Ave and provides approximately 2500 feet of pathway to connect to Fries Mill Rd.

Property Taxes:

According to the public Records: The property taxes for these homes range $9,732 up to $19,385 per year. The average is approximately $12,187 per year.

This community is also subject to a small annual HOA fee of Approximately $250/Year which covers common area maintenance.

Best Local Gym:

Kinetic Climbing and indoor Bouldering Gym Located at 1155 S Black Horse Pike, Williamstown, NJ 08094; once afternoon here and you will have a whole new appreciation for all the intricate muscles throughout your hands. This is a great place to have fun, try something new and get a serious workout.

Best Local Restaurant:

Sombrita's Authentic Mexican Food is a great little hole in the wall establishment with amazing food. When I was there last I had an order of the Al Pastor Tacos and Wow. This place is awesome and you have to try it. I’ve heard good things about their tamales; so if you want to meet there, talk about real estate and share a bite I’m game! Email me at

Best Local Libations:

For wine lovers, you need to check out Blue Cork Winery. A relatively new winery with heart of gold and french oaked Chardonnay that I am particularly fond of.

Brewery: You gotta Stop into 13th Child Brewery located at 345 S Main Street in Williamstown and try their Mosaic and Citra Hopped Mean 13 New England Style IPA. *Big Bonus* You can ride your bike there via the Glassboro Williamstown Bike Trail.

Best Bar in town… in my humble opinion you would have to try hard to find a better joint than Racks Pub and Grill located at 2021 N Black Horse Pike in Williamstown:
